More gold! Accredited Lecturer Irving Finkel stares straight at the sun - or rather an ancient representation of a sun goddess.
Our Societies support hundreds of local arts and heritage projects. Each day we highlight a grant given in 2021.
Age Concern, Sandwich has received a grant from The Arts Society Sandwich. Their Sunflower Centre for people with dementia, provides a range of artistic activities. The grant will enhance music within the centre, including group singing, engaging a music therapist, and the purchase of equipment and musical instruments.
All donations from the Artvent Calendar will go towards The Arts Society’s grant giving fund, which awards grants to help preserve our artistic heritage, support the skills of artists and makers, and improve access to the arts for all.

Great craftsmanship and a a great presenter. A lovely start for my day.
Ah, my favourite lecturer, Professor Finkel, I could listen to him for hours. These art ‘snits’ are just so wonderful, a real joy every morning. Please give a big hug to the person who thought of the idea and the team who put them all together. Also love the Artvent title picture with those enigmatic trees. Who painted (and chose) this? Big hug to them too. In fact, accolades all round!
